Our solutions

Fleet Risk Management to suit your company

No matter how many company vehicles you have on the road, SurePlan has a range of fleet risk management solutions and driver training options to suit. Our highly skilled technical and service teams work with New Zealand businesses and government organisations that employ owner drivers or run vehicle fleets of any size. Whether you have a fleet of 20 or 5,000, we can help you get the plans in place that identify risk and reduce it.

Our comprehensive range of services is delivered as four tailored packages: fleet risk management, accident management, fleet health and safety compliance and driver training.

Each one addresses companies who have little or no fleet risk management systems and processes in place to those who have everything under control bar the tracking and reporting component of legislative requirements.

SurePlan's proven systems and processes drive down crash rates, provides incident tracking and reporting. These systems are linked to tested programmes that alter driver awareness and behaviour, which result in cost reduction and savings as well as delivering OHS compliance across your fleet. Accident-management-icon-v3 Accident Management

All fleet managers know, an accident can be very costly - both in time and in money. Accident management outsources the activities that are needed when an accident involving a vehicle in your fleet happens.

Outsourcing accident management helps you get control of an accident from start to finish. This ensures logistical efficiency as well as allows you to collate data on both the driver and the accident circumstances which can later be used in corrective training. Accident management, therefore, reduces downtime and company costs while it grows peace of mind for your business leaders, fleet managers and vehicle drivers.

Our accident management process begins with a quick phone call to our 24/7 0800 number. Our electronic claim form (ECF) will prompt the driver with a series of questions and then will be directed to the most convenient SurePlan network repairer. There, the extent of damage can be established, and the driver and passengers will be looked after.

Accident Management collision assistance centre will:

  • Look to take care of the driver’s immediate needs
  • Organise a replacement vehicle
  • Arrange damaged vehicles to be towed to a place of safety or approved repairer
  • Capture key incident information for claims and OHS purposes
  • Manage the repair process (aiding in minimising vehicle downtime)
  • Control the repair costs (by assessing the damage and repairer estimate)

Health-and-safety-icon-v5 Fleet Health and Safety Compliance

Changes to health and safety rules and regulations happen from time to time. If your company has a mobile workforce, it’s important to remain updated with the latest legislation changes as they ultimately affect the way your business operates.

At SurePlan, we understand that keeping up with these changes and having the tools in place to manage fleet safety and OHS compliance can be time-consuming on top of everything else you need to do. So instead of going out and searching for the information yourself, we will bring it to you.

When considering your fleet health and safety compliance, SurePlan will help:

  1. Identify possible areas of risk across your fleet, including trends such as common incident types, drivers who could be considered high risk and potential hazards that may exist within your fleet.
  2. Assess your exposure to pull together a plan ensuring you have the correct systems and resources in place.
  3. Implement suitable controls that eliminate or minimise risks like, pre-employment driver risk assessments, driver training, license checks or incident reporting.
  4. Review and monitor the effectiveness of your controls to ensure you're compliant at all times.

Driver-training-icon Driver Training

Driver behaviour is one of the most important aspects to look at when considering accident prevention strategies. Businesses also now have a legal obligation under the Health and Safety at Work Act to provide information, training and supervision to their drivers.

The benefits of online driver training include:

  • Removing the time consuming administrative and coordination tasks with practical in-car training
  • Lessons can be done anywhere at any time (as long as there's internet access)
  • Learning is completely measurable
  • An increase in driver awareness of the ongoing risks of the road
  • An exploration into how they can manage risks
  • Proactive risk management
  • Ability to run the program both nationally and internationally

At SurePlan, driver training and driver education are all about creating greater awareness and upskilling your drivers around the risks they face on a day to day basis.

Our range of risk solutions and online driver training plans can be applied to strengthen existing fleet management strategies or offer a complete and tailor-made solution. We use our e-learning web training tool Driving Safer to focus on driver behaviour and the choices they make.

SurePlan also recommends FleetCoach, an interactive online driver coaching program with more than 20 years of internationally published research and data collected from more than 15,000 drivers. With video simulations taking place in New Zealand, it coaches your staff through crucial high-level driving skills such as hazard perception and situation awareness.
